Diving makes lot of fun and enjoyment underwater. You will see many different kinds and formations of reefs and different species of fish. Underwater adventure is rare compared in land with many fishes, unviewed surroundings, smooth environment and solemn light from the above. Conducting a trip to noted diving places is one of a kind.
However, you need to prepare the necessary gears for your diving trip to be more pleasurable. Scuba diving gears consist of many items and each one, no matter how small, is significant to complete your get-up
There are many kinds of scuba gears, but the most important diving gears are the one that covers and protect the diver's head. While the other gears protects the diver from danger and help the diver to have a good diving experience.
Listed below are the different kinds of diving gears:
1. Standard diving dress - this is used mostly for professional diving. This standard diving dress consists of a metallic like copper, brass or bronze diving helmets. While the diving suits, this are mostly made of canvas.
This piece of clothing or gadget protects the diver from underwater environment. Modern diving suits are the soft or the ambient pressure like the wetsuits, dry suits, semi- dry suits and dive skins.
The second type of modern diving suits is the hard or the atmospheric pressure diving suits. This is a rock-hard suit that makes a diver stay at atmospheric pressure whilst operating at intensity where the water pressure is high. Here are the characteristics of the different diving suits:
Wetsuits - these are simple suits normally used where the water temperature is between 10 and 25 degree Celsius. This permits the water within the suit, but it is rapt as a thin layer involving the skin and the neoprene, and body heat keep it warm.
Dry suits - this are used in the water temperature is between 0 and 15 degree Celsius. Some dry suits have a built- in boots, while other has ankle seals only. There are two kinds of dry suit. One is the membrane dry suits made from thin materials, with a consequent poor thermal insulation. And the neoprene dry suits, this is made of neoprene. This is a buoyant and thermally insulating material.
Semi dry suits - this are normally used in the water temperature is about 10 to 20 degree Celsius. This is effectively thick wetsuits with better than usual seals at wrist, neck, and ankles.
Dive skins and jeans - this are used normally where water temperature is over 25 degree Celsius. This are mostly made from Lycra and provide little thermal protection but simply protect the skin from stings and abrasion.
2. Professional divers engaged in surface supplied diving mostly use diving helmets. Diving helmets covers the whole parts of the face of the diver from the water. This also allows the diver to see under water. This helps the diver to have his or her breathing gas.
This is important because this can help divers to protect themselves specially if they are working or having a heavy works underwater. There are several types of diving helmets: the spherical copper helmets, the modern commercial helmet, and the light weight recreational transparent dome type of helmets.
3. Diving mask – this is an alternative in case you are not comfortable with the diving helmets. This item allows the scuba diver to see clearly underwater. However, this allows the diver to exhale through his or her nose into the mask to prevent squeeze that caused by increasing pressure during the descent in water.
There are two kinds of diving mask, these are; full face diving mask, this are commonly used by working divers who need underwater verbal communication ability. The hard hat is a part of the old-fashioned standard diving dress.
